Annual Party Conference – Members Reception
On the 3rd of October 2023 the Lord Choudrey CBE SI Pk Chairman & the Directors of Conservative Friends of Pakistan hosted their annual members reception at the party conference in Manchester.
The reception was attended by senior members of the Cabinet, members of both houses of Parliament, Mayors and Councillors.
The Deputy Prime Minister Rt Hon Oliver Dowden MP in his keynote address said “Friends groups like the Conservative Friends of Pakistan are vital to the success of our Party. It’s you who are out there, knocking on doors in all weathers, fundraising for our candidates, or building links with communities across our country. I want to pay special tribute to the work of your Chairman, Lord Choudrey, and your contribution will be crucial as we build towards the next general election.
The Foreign Secretary Rt Hon James Cleverly MP touched on the historical bonds between Pakistan and UK which had stood the test of time and how proud he was of his longstanding association with the CFo
Security Minister Hon Tom Tugendhat said the Pakistan community in the UK are natural Conservatives and called upon on the CfoP to galvanise the Pakistani community to support the party in next year’s election.
